The State Bank of Herscher was chartered in 1902 by a group of residents who understood what a local bank meant for the well-being of their community. The growth that we have experienced since that time has allowed us to move to our present location in Herscher as well as expand to Limestone.
State Bank of Herscher was acquired by Foresight Financial Group, Inc. in 2015. Foresight's motto is “Community Building through Community Banking”. This acquisition allows State Bank of Herscher to offer products and services comparable to larger banks, while maintaining the authority to make decisions locally so our customers’ needs can be better served.
Foresight Financial Group, headquartered in Rockford, Illinois, has twelve branch locations in Northwest Illinois and two branch locations and a loan production office in Kankakee County. In addition to State Bank of Herscher, Foresight has five other separately chartered subsidiary banks, namely: Northwest Bank of Rockford, State Bank in Freeport, State Bank of Davis, Lena State Bank and German-American State Bank in German Valley.
